Abstract

La estupidez es una característica humana por excelencia, es una cualidad en la que todos puntuamos en algún grado, por lo que comprender su naturaleza es comprendernos a nosotros mismos. Si bien habría que diferenciar la estupidez como subproducto de la actividad humana, de la estupidez como rasgo de personalidad o de la estupidez como valor social. Cuando el individuo es dominado por la estupidez surge el bobo, el necio, el atolondrado, el engreído, el inmaduro, el burócrata, el divo, el dictador......, pero si la estupidez llega a dominar al grupo tenemos un grave problema que puede acabar en una epidemia: La cultura de la estupidez. La estupidez es contagiosa puede infectar a varias personas a la vez en poco tiempo, especialmente niños y adolescentes, se transmite fácilmente por vía televisiva, pero sólo se cura con tratamientos individuales de choque y siempre que se coja en sus primeros estadios. El estúpido no nace sino que se hace y además con mucho esfuerzo y dedicación y en colaboración con sus allegados. Las consecuencias de la estupidez son devastadoras para el sujeto que la padece, pero también para su familia, sus amigos si los tiene, sus subordinados, la sociedad y para el mundo en general porque la historia nos revela que su condición le predispone para acceder a la presidencia de países poderosos.
