Les effets des disputes parentales sur les enfants

Abstract

El presente documento recoge los aspectos más importantes de un estudio que, con el objetivo de aproximarse al tema de los efectos que las discusiones de los padres tienen sobre los hijos, ha sido llevado a cabo por un grupo de investigadores de la Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid. Se trata de un estudio piloto, de una primera toma de contacto que no pretende ser exhaustiva sino más bien explorar cualitativamente algunos aspectos del problema como ¿qué sienten los hijos, especialmente los más pequeños, cuando sus padres discuten? y ¿cómo alteran estas discusiones las relaciones de preferencia y cercanía de los hijos para con los padres? El estudio se ha centrado en niños entre 6 y 8 años por su adecuación para colaborar en una investigación que pretendía recoger los datos de forma mínimamente rápida y operativa. Y también porque los niños de esta edad aún tienen grandes dificultades para enfrentarse, elaborar y verbalizar sus emociones negativas, favoreciendo la posible aparición de complicaciones afectivas, lo que constituía nuestra principal preocupación e interés para la realización del presente trabajo. La muestra estuvo formada por un total de 344 niños y niñas de edades comprendidas entre 6 y 8 años, alumnos de 1°, 2° y 3° de primaria de dos colegios, uno público y otro privado.

This document presents the most important aspects of a study that, in order to approach the issue of the effects that the parents' discussions have on their children, has been carried out by a group of researchers from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid. It is a pilot study, a first contact that is not intended to be exhaustive but rather to qualitatively explore some aspects of the problem such as what children feel, especially the smaller ones, when their parents discuss? And how do these discussions alter the relations of preference and closeness of the children to the parents? The study focused on children between 6 and 8 years old because of their suitability to collaborate in an investigation that sought to collect data in a minimally fast and operative way. And also because children of this age still have great difficulties to confront, elaborate and verbalize their negative emotions, favoring the possible appearance of affective complications, which was our main concern and interest for the realization of this work. The sample consisted of a total of 344 children aged between 6 and 8 years old, students of 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade in two schools, one public and one private.
