La vivienda en España: derechos, riqueza y negocio

Abstract

Nuestra Constitución dice que Todos los españoles tienen derecho a disfrutar de una vivienda digna y adecuada . (Artículo 47). En este artículo se analiza el mercado de la vivienda en España durante el periodo comprendido entre 1995 y la actualidad. Se describe su importancia durante el periodo de crecimiento, pero también se señalan los desequilibrios que ocasionó y que explican el pinchazo de la burbuja inmobiliaria y las graves consecuencias posteriores, entre las que destacan los problemas de sectores vulnerables para hacer frente al pago de la hipoteca o del alquiler de la vivienda y que en muchos casos han acabado en desahucios y pobreza.

The Spanish Constitution says that All Spaniards have the right to enjoy decent and adequate housing . (Article 47). This paper aims to analyze the housing market in Spain during the period between 1995 and today. It describes the importance of this economic sector during the period of economic growth but also points out the serious imbalances that it caused. These imbalances explain the impact of the housing bubble and the serious subsequent consequences among which we could highlight the problems of vulnerable sectors to face the payment of their mortgages or the rent of their houses and that in many cases these problems can lead the most vulnerable people to eviction and poverty.
