dc.description.abstract | Children's language and movement Spatial ability, and especially spatial relationships, are not consolidated until 10 years of age. But more important than going fast, is doing things with order and perseverance. After about two and a half years, we can complicate matters a little more since the language ability of children begins to take more complex forms and becomes an ally for spatial learning. The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) claims that the first five years in the life of a child are the most important ones for his or her brain s development, and especially the first three ones. The stimuli that parents and educators provide them with over that period are fundamental in developing their senses, movements, thinking and learning capabilities. Early stimulation helps in strengthening the body and in developing their emotions and intelligence, and it is based upon the practice of simple exercises that are conducted as games and activities. The four fundamental areas of development are the following: - Gross motor skills: these are the ample movements of the body, legs and arms. - Fine motor skills: these are the fine and more precise movements of the hands and fingers. - Language: it is the ability to communicate and speak. - Socio-affectivity: it is the ability of establishing relationships with others and express feelings and emotions. The fixed section of Early Stimulation included in the family magazine Hacer Familia (Building Family) offers to parents on a monthly basis games and activities for children classified according to ages and development areas. | en-GB |
