Técnicas narrativas y el español del Perú como representación de oralidad en Conversación en La Catedral, de Mario Vargas Llosa

Abstract

En el siguiente artículo se analiza el discurso literario de la novela Conversación en La Catedral de Mario Vargas Llosa desde la perspectiva del lenguaje oral aspecto que hasta la fecha no ha sido suficientemente estudiado por la crítica. Si bien algunos autores mencionan la oralidad de la novela, no existen estudios sobre las estrategias narrativas utilizadas por el novelista para crear la impresión de oralidad en el lector. El presente artículo supone un esfuerzo por cubrir esta laguna, demostrando que la sensación de oralidad transmitida se basa en un amplio abanico de estrategias que van más lejos del uso de los diálogos, del español hablado en el Perú o del lenguaje coloquial.

The following article is an analytical approach to the literary discourse in the novel Conversación en La Catedral from Mario Vargas LLosa, focusing on those elements related to the oral language. Oral language has not been the subject of an in-depth study by literature specialists within the written creation of Mario Vargas LLosa. Despite the mention by some authors of the orality of the novel, nevertheless no research has been carried out on the narrative strategies used by the novelist in order to produce an impression of orality on the reader. The current article is an attempt to fill this gap, proving that the reader s perception of real orality is a consequence of applying a series of strategies that go beyond the mere use of dialogue, Peruvian Spanish or specific slang registers.
