Reflexiones sobre la traducción de la oralidad fingida en la narrativa

Abstract

En este capítulo se plantea un esbozo general de lo que significa el concepto de la oralidad fingida y la problemática a la hora de traducir los distintos elementos que la configuran. La oralidad fingida o ficticia es un concepto complejo y difiere según el autor y la obra. Sin embargo, es posible encontrar paralelismos que nos llevan a identificar recursos tanto narrativos como lingüísticos que sirven para que un texto se acerque más a la concepción oral . Estos recursos tienen la función de evocar en el lector situaciones comunicativas que expresen dentro del conjunto de la obra un significado determinado que va mucho más allá de la simple escena. El objetivo primordial de la traducción debería ser el de evocar lo mismo, aunque no siempre se van a poder usar las mismas estrategias que se usan en el original ya que no hay siempre equivalencias en la lengua meta.

This chapter offers a general outline of what the concept of feigned or fictive orality means and what kind of strategies can be found translating it into another language. Feigned or fictitious orality is a complex concept and differs according to the author and the work. However, it is possible to find parallels that lead us to identify both narrative and linguistic resources that serve to make a text closer to the 'oral' conception. These resources have the function to evoke in the reader communicative situations that express within the set of the work a certain meaning that goes far beyond the simple scene. The primary objective of translation should be to evoke the same, although you will not always be able to use the same strategies used in the original since there are not always equivalences in the target language.
