La problemática de la traducción literaria y su aplicación a la traducción de textos del árabe al castellano

Abstract

En el presente trabajo de fin de grado, abordaremos la traducción de textos literarios como un medio de intercambio de ideas y valores que permite el acceso a la cultura árabo-islámica que tanto ha influido en la construcción de la cultura e idiosincrasia españolas. A través de los textos, y en especial los textos literarios, se transmiten conceptos, imágenes, pensamientos y reflexiones que traspasan barreras lingüísticas y culturales para llegar a otros pueblos y culturas diferentes. Sin embargo, para que este proceso de intercambio tenga éxito, la labor de los traductores se hace indispensable. Así pues, en este trabajo de investigación, analizaremos la traducción literaria del árabe al español y, en especial, sus diversas problemáticas que de entrada quizás parezcan obstáculos, pero que en último término pueden ser resueltos de diversas maneras con el fin de lograr traducciones apropiadas y coherentes que faciliten, en este caso, a los lectores hispanohablantes el acceso a la vasta y exuberante producción literaria en lengua árabe. En este sentido, nos centraremos en problemáticas concretas y sus estrategias de solución: el dilema entre domesticación y extranjerización, la traducción de culturemas, la diglosia y la traducción de elementos dialectales, el estilo de los autores y, finalmente, la traducción de los nombres propios árabes.

In this dissertation, we will deal with the translation of literary texts as a means of exchanging ideas and values that allows access to the Arab-Islamic culture that has so much influenced the construction of Spanish culture and idiosyncrasy. Through texts, and especially literary texts, concepts, images, thoughts and reflections that cross linguistic and cultural barriers to reach other different peoples and cultures are transmitted. However, for this exchange process to be successful, the work of translators is indispensable. Therefore, in this research work, we will analyse the literary translation from Arabic into Spanish and, in particular, its various problems which may seem to be obstacles at first glance, but which can ultimately be resolved in various ways in order to achieve appropriate and coherent translations which, in this case, give Spanish-speaking readers' access to the vast and exuberant literary production in the Arabic language. In this sense, we will focus on specific problems and their solution strategies: the dilemma between domestication and foreignization, the translation of culture-related terminology, the diglossia and translation of dialectal elements, the style of the authors and, finally, the translation of Arabic proper names.
