El lema de la JMJ y el Papa Francisco

Abstract

A pocos días de la celebración de la Jornada Mundial de la Juventud, Río 2013, su lema Id y haced discípulos a todos los pueblos (Mt 28, 19) resuena en los corazones de muchos miles de jóvenes que se están preparando para vivir esta gran aventura de la fe. El Santo Padre, en sus 100 primeros días de pontificado, recientemente cumplidos, ha hablado con amorosa insistencia acerca de la necesidad de salir de nosotros mismos y de ponernos en movimiento para llevar el Evangelio de Cristo, su amor y su misericordia, a aquellos que más lo necesitan. Nos ha animado a ir a las periferias, a las que no llega habitualmente la Buena Nueva de Cristo, muchas veces por nuestra falta de valentía para acercarnos a ellas.

A few days before the celebration of the World Youth Day, Rio 2013, his motto "Go and make disciples of all peoples" (Mt 28, 19) resounds in the hearts of many thousands of young people who are preparing to live this great adventure of faith. The Holy Father, in his first 100 days of pontificate, recently fulfilled, has spoken with loving insistence about the need to go out of ourselves and to set us in motion to bring the Gospel of Christ, his love and his mercy, to those who they need it most, has encouraged us to go to the peripheries, where the Good News of Christ does not usually arrive, often because of our lack of courage to approach them.
