El cielo anticipado. Mística y poesía en san Juan de la Cruz

Abstract

El nuestro es un estudio sincrónico e inmanente del conjunto de los escritos de Juan de la Cruz, que nos ha de permitir adentrarnos así en su experiencia y "esperanza de cielo". Como andamiaje hermenéutico hemos utilizado ciertas metáforas cognitivas y la poética de lo espacial. Comenzaremos presentando una breve "gramática espacial" del cielo sanjuanista. El punto central de nuestra exposición versará en torno al "cielo" visto desde un cuádruple viaje espacial: el cielo está afuera -prado y huerto- ; el cielo está adentro -bodega, nido, cavernas-; el cielo está arriba - monte, vuelo, pájaro- ; el cielo está adelante -allí, aquello-. Terminaremos esbozando un mapa del cielo, del cielo anhelado y esperado, pues, como afirma nuestro místico: "esperanza de cielo 1 tanto alcanza cuanto espera".

Our study is a synchronic and immanent research about the whole of the writings of John of the Cross, which will allow us to understand his experience and "hope of heaven". As hermeneutical scaffolding we have used certain cognitive metaphors and the poetics of space. We will begin by presenting a brief "spatial grammar" of the 'sanjuanista' heaven. The central point of our paper will be around "heaven" seen from a fourfold space trip: heaven is outside -meadow and orchard; heaven is inside -cellar, nest, caverns; heaven is up -mount, flight, bird; heaven is ahead -there, that. We will finish by sketching a map of heaven, of the desired and awaited heaven, because, as John of the Cross says: "for the hope of heaven 1 attains as much as it hopes for".
