El cielo en la predicación y el acompañamiento espiritual de San Juan de Ávila

Abstract

La predicación y el acompañamiento espiritual fueran dos de las actividades más importantes en el ministerio pastoral de Juan de Ávila. Este trabajo estudia la presencia de la temática del cielo en ambos y muestra que no se trata de un elemento marginal: está conectado con la centralidad del misterio cristiano. Cristo es el que descendió del cielo y ascendió a él; es el pan vivo bajado del cielo. Incorporados a él, nosotros recibimos el cielo como herencia. Entrar en el cielo es entrar en el gozo del Señor y alcanzar la experiencia de la caridad perfecta: Ávila reflexiona sobre este gozo y esta caridad para orientar la vida y animar la esperanza de los cristianos.

:Preaching and spiritual accompaniment were two of the most important activities in the pastoral ministry ofJuan de Avila. This paper studies the presence of the heaven theme in both of them and shows that it is not a marginal element: it is connected to the centrality of the Christian mystery. Christ is the one who descended fram heaven and ascended to it; he is the living bread that carne down from heaven. Incorporated into him, we receive heaven as a heritance. Entering heaven is entering the joy of the Lord and reach the experience of perfect charity: Avila reflects on this joy and charity to guide the life and encourage the hope of Christians.
