Nuevas tecnologías y reproducción

Abstract

Tecnologías para ayudar a la reproducción ha habido durante toda la historia, pero desde 1978, con el nacimiento del primer bebé probeta , se han producido importantes cambios. Por un lado, cambios en las ciencias reproductivas, pues se ha puesto en cuestión el concepto mismo de enfermedad, de infertilidad, de concepción e incluso de embrión. Por otro lado, ha desencadenado importantes cambios antropológicos: conceptos como procreación, reproducción, filiación o familia han adquirido nuevas comprensiones, construyendo nuevos imaginarios sociales. Todo ello nos lleva a pensar en un futuro incierto donde los pilares éticos en los que se asentaba el comienzo de la vida humana deban ser repensados.

Technologies to help human reproduction have been throughout history, but since 1978, with the birth of the first "test tube baby ", there have been important changes. On the one hand, changes in the reproductive sciences, because has been questioned the concept of disease, infertility, conception and even embryo. On the other hand, it has been important anthropological changes too: concepts such as procreation, reproduction, filiation or family have acquired new understandings, building new social imaginaries. All this leads us to think about an uncertain future where the ethical pillars on which the beginning of human life was based should be rethought.
