Imaginación, imaginar e imaginando. Sobre lo visual y lo visionario en los Ejercicios Espirituales

Abstract

Se ofrece una breve visión de la importancia que ejerce la imaginación en los Ejercicios Espirituales. En primer lugar, a partir del significado de la palabra representación , se habla de la imaginación como la capacidad humana que ayuda a representarse el misterio cristiano y mediante la que el ejercitante desarrolla la imaginación figurativa (preámbulos y puntos), abstraída (coloquios) y discernida (reglas de discernimiento y examen de la oración). En segundo lugar, se expone la relación entre la vista imaginativa y el resto de facultades humanas (memoria, entendimiento y voluntad) que intervienen en la experiencia espiritual. El artículo concluye con una aproximación a la mirada interior como instrumento de la espiritualidad ignaciana para educar la mirada y la libertad del sujeto ignaciano.

This article provides a brief vision of the importance that the imagination exercises in the Spiritual Exercises. Firstly, from the meaning of the word representation , the imagination means the human capacity that helps to represent the Christian mystery and through which the exercitant develops the figurative imagination (Preludes and Points), abstracted (Colloquy) and discerned (Rules of Discernment and Examen of Prayer). Secondly, we expose the relationship between the imaginative view and the rest of human faculties (Memory, Understanding and Will) that involve in the spiritual experience. The article concludes with an approach about the inner sight as instrument of Ignatian Spirituality to educate the act of seeing and liberty in the ignatian subject.
