El judeoespañol en las redes sociales

Abstract

En la actualidad, el judeoespañol es una lengua con cada vez menos hablantes y el riesgo de que llegue a desaparecer es cada vez más evidente. El objetivo principal del presente trabajo es examinar el estado en que se encuentra hoy el judeoespañol, su presencia en redes sociales y el papel de estas en su revitalización. En primer lugar, el estudio de una lengua con un peso histórico tan evidente como es el caso del judeoespañol exige realizar una descripción histórico-lingüística de la misma desde los primeros indicios de presencia judía en España hasta nuestros días. En segundo lugar, se analiza el grado de amenaza que sufre el judeoespañol mediante las tablas de disrupción intergeneracional de Lewis y Simons de cara a plantear una posible estrategia de revitalización de la lengua. A continuación, se recopilan y se analizan los principales grupos y páginas de Facebook que guarden relación con la lengua y la cultura sefardí, además de la Ladinokomunita en Yahoo. El trabajo concluye con el análisis de las respuestas obtenidas en el sondeo que se realizó y que se distribuyó por los foros y páginas antes comentados. A través de estas respuestas y de las tablas planteadas por Lewis y Simons, se logró determinar en qué etapa de desaparición se encuentra el judeoespañol, cuáles son los principales riesgos para su supervivencia como lengua viva, cómo revertir este proceso y el papel de las redes sociales.

Today, Judeo-Spanish is a language with progressively fewer speakers and the risk of its disappearance is becoming more and more evident. The main objective of this paper is to examine the current state of Judeo-Spanish, its presence in social networks and the role of these networks in bringing about its revitalization. First of all, the study of a language in which history has had such an evident impact as Judeo-Spanish requires a historical-linguistic description of the language from the first signs of Jewish presence in Spain to the present day. Secondly, the degree of endangerment of Judeo-Spanish is analyzed by means of Lewis and Simons' tables of intergenerational disruption with a view to proposing a possible strategy for the revitalization of the language. Next, the main Facebook groups and pages related to the Sephardic language and culture, as well as the Ladinokomunita on Yahoo, are compiled and analyzed. The work concludes with the analysis of the answers obtained in the survey that was carried out and distributed in the forums and pages mentioned above. Through these answers and the tables proposed by Lewis and Simons, it was possible to determine in what stage of disappearance Judeo-Spanish is, what are the main risks for its survival as a living language, how to reverse this process and the role played by social networks.
