El habla marinera en A Guarda (Pontevedra)

Abstract

Este trabajo surge de la necesidad imperiosa de dejar constancia sobre el habla marinera de A Guarda y de darle significado a su lengua. Además, pretende situar en el mismo nivel al castellano y al gallego, abandonando los prejuicios lingüísticos asentados en la sociedad. Asimismo, tiene como objetivo analizar los orígenes terminológicos del léxico marinero guardés y sus variantes lexicográficas. En cuanto a la metodología, los términos se obtuvieron de una previa entrevista que realizó el presidente de la Asociación Cultural de Embarcacións Tradicionais Piueiro a los marineros de A Guarda. Para la realización de este estudio se seleccionaron exclusivamente los datos relacionados con el ámbito marinero y se dividieron en subcampos para hallar la etimología de las palabras y registrar sus variantes. Concluimos que la situación geográfica y la larga historia que caracteriza a la villa de A Guarda han influenciado considerablemente en el geolecto de los habitantes.

This work arises from the urgent need to record the seafaring speech of A Guarda and to give meaning to its language. It also aims to place Spanish and Galician on the same level, abandoning the linguistic prejudices that have become established in society. It also aims to analyse the terminological origins of A Guarda seafaring lexicon and its lexicographical variants. As for the methodology, the terms were obtained from a previous interview carried out by the president of the Asociación Cultural de Embarcacións Tradicionais Piueiro (Piueiro Traditional Boats Cultural Association) with the sailors of A Guarda. In order to carry out this study, only data related to the seafaring field were selected and divided into subfields to find the etymology of the words and record their variants. We conclude that the geographical situation and the long history of the town of A Guarda have had a considerable influence on the geolect of the inhabitants.
