Análisis comparativo de las diferencias de uso de eufemismos, disfemismos y otros mecanismos de atenuación entre las variedades de español peninsular y mexicano

Abstract

Los tabús culturales y lingüísticos han existido desde el inicio de la civilización, este trabajo pretende realizar una comparación entre las variantes del castellano peninsular y mexicana en lo que respecta al uso del eufemismo, del disfemismo, del usteo, del tuteo y del diminutivo como mecanismos auxiliares en la atenuación de un mensaje referente a lo que se considera como tema tabú. El caso de la comparación del fenómeno entre España y México resulta especialmente interesante debido al complejo pasado histórico que comparten las dos culturas. La investigación respalda sus conclusiones en los resultados del análisis empírico de los datos obtenidos a partir de una encuesta que fue lanzada entre individuos hablantes de ambas variantes del español que se consideran en el estudio. Se ha concluido que, aunque existan diferencias significativas en el uso que ambas variantes le dan a los mecanismos previamente mencionados, la similitud y la presencia de los tabús culturales que rigen su uso sigue siendo muy importante.

Cultural and linguistic taboos have existed since the beginning of civilization. This paper aims to compare the use of euphemisms, dysphemisms, both forms of the 'you' pronoun (familiar and formal) and the diminutive as auxiliary mechanisms in the attenuation of a message referring to what is considered a taboo subject. The case of the comparison of the phenomenon between Spain and Mexico is particularly interesting due to the complex historical past shared by the two cultures. The research supports its conclusions on the results of the empirical analysis of the data obtained from a survey that was launched among speakers of both variants of Spanish. It has been concluded that, although there are significant differences in the use that both variants give to the previously mentioned mechanisms, the similarity and the presence of cultural taboos that govern their use is still very important.
