La poética del fuego en los "Cien sonetos de amor", de Pablo Neruda

Abstract

En este trabajo se identifican distintos valores simbólicos que adopta el fuego en la poesía de Neruda, concretamente en la obra "Cien sonetos de amor". Para encontrar los valores simbólicos con más precisión se estudian las características generales de la poesía de Neruda y la influencia de algunos autores en la misma. Se estudian los efectos y la influencia de poetas como Darío, Sabat Ercasty, Tagore, Whitman, Góngora y Quevedo. Tras analizar la influencia de estos poetas en la poesía nerudiana se analizan los temas principales que aborda la obra sujeta estudio. El estudio de la poesía nerudiana sirve para contextualizar la obra y analizar con mejor precisión el valor simbólico del fuego. Sin embargo, la parte más importante es el análisis del símbolo. En esta parte se busca una definición del símbolo desde distintos campos como la antropología y la filosofía. Se estudian las aproximaciones al símbolo por parte de Vernant, Bachelard, Jung y Nietzsche. Posteriormente se analiza el valor simbólico de los cuatro elementos mediante un diccionario de símbolos. Finalmente se estudian los contextos en los que aparece el fuego en la obra "Cien sonetos de amor" para encontrar los distintos significados que da el poeta al fuego.

This work identifies different symbolic values that fire adopts in Neruda's poetry, specifically in the book “Cien sonetos de amor” (One Hundred Love Sonnets). In order to find the symbolic values more precisely, the general characteristics of Neruda's poetry and the influence of some authors on it are studied. The effects and influence of poets such as Darío, Sabat Ercasty, Tagore, Whitman, Góngora and Quevedo are studied. After analysing the influence of these poets on Nerudian poetry, the main themes of the book under study are analysed. The study of Nerudian poetry serves to contextualise the work and to analyse more precisely the symbolic value of fire. However, the most important part is the analysis of the symbol. In this part, a definition of the symbol is sought from different fields such as anthropology and philosophy. The approaches to the symbol by Vernant, Bachelard, Jung and Nietzsche are studied. Subsequently, the symbolic value of the four elements is analysed by means of a dictionary of symbols. Finally, the contexts in which fire appears in the book “Cien sonetos de amor” (One Hundred Love Sonnets) are studied in order to find the different meanings given to fire by the poet.
