Partnerships with the Private Sector: Success Factors and Levels of Engagement in Development Cooperation

Abstract

Practicantes e investigadores, ven de manera creciente al sector privado como un socio de la cooperación al desarrollo. Este capítulo examina la pregunta de ¿cómo las alianzas con el sector privado, pueden volverse mas exitosas para alcanzar la agenda 2030?. Mostramos que importa si visualizar si se incentiva y regula el vinculo con el sector privado a nivel global (en plataformas multiactor por ejemplo), o si se hace a nivel país (en agencias de desarrollo).

Practitioners and researchers alike increasingly regard the private sector as a crucial partner for development cooperation. This chapter examines the question of how partnerships with private-sector actors can become more successful to achieve the 2030 Agenda. We show that it matters whether it is envisioned to incentivise and regulate private-sector engagement at the global level (e.g. in multi-stakeholder platforms) or at the country level (e.g. with development agencies).
