La traducción en servicios públicos: menús en restaurantes

Abstract

El presente trabajo presenta un estudio empírico y exploratorio, a través del cual se tratará de observar la realidad de la traducción en bares y restaurantes de la ciudad de Madrid. Si bien, al ser un estudio piloto, no será muy extenso, servirá para plantear las bases de un estudio de mayor envergadura. El análisis que presentamos en este trabajo se ha dividido en dos partes: por un lado, observar el de los problemas, dificultades y errores de traducción presentes en las traducciones de menús de restaurantes y bares de Madrid y, por el otro lado, el de evaluar las estrategias de traducción empleadas en el menú del restaurante con tres estrellas Michelin, poseedor del premio a mejor restaurante del mundo, en dos ocasiones, el Celler de Can Roca, ubicado en Cataluña.

This thesis presents an empirical and exploratory study, through which we will try to observe the reality of translation in bars and restaurants in the city of Madrid. Although, being a pilot study, it will not be very extensive, it will serve to lay the foundations for a larger study. The analysis presented in this paper has been divided into two parts: on the one hand, to observe the problems, difficulties and translation errors present in the translation of restaurant and bar menus in Madrid and, on the other hand, to evaluate the translation strategies used in the menu of the three Michelin-starred restaurant, winner of the award for best restaurant in the world on two occasions, El Celler de Can Roca, located in Catalonia.
