Proyecto de educación afectivo-sexual a adolescentes con riesgo de exclusión social y familias desestructuradas en el Centro de Menores Madre Teresa de Aranjuez

Abstract

La educación afectivo-sexual ha demostrado tener un impacto positivo en los jóvenes, mejorando su capacidad afectiva y su conocimiento sobre la sexualidad, reduciendo los embarazos no deseados y previniendo enfermedades de transmisión sexual. Nuestro proyecto tiene como objetivo proveer a los jóvenes que se encuentran en una situación de exclusión social, de información fiable para concienciarles de la importancia de practicar una sexualidad sana, sin riesgos, y del papel fundamental que tiene la autoestima en su desarrollo. Esto los ayudará a crecer física, psicológica y mentalmente. El proyecto está dirigido a los jóvenes de entre 12 y 16 años del Centro de Menores Madre Teresa, situado en Aranjuez (Madrid) y se dividirá en tres sesiones, todas ellas trabajarán temas fundamentales en la educación afectivo-sexual. Los talleres serán teórico-prácticos; los adolescentes podrán participar, mostrar sus habilidades, resolver sus dudas y, al mismo tiempo, ampliar sus conocimientos. De esta manera, se pretende conseguir que los adolescentes se abran al personal sanitario para ayudarles a evitar factores de riesgo y prepararlos para enfrentarse al futuro.

Sexual-affective education has been shown to have a positive impact on youths, improving their affective skills, as well as increasing their knowledge about sexuality. Likewise, it has proven to decrease unwanted pregnancies and STDs. Our project aims to provide young people who are in a situation of social exclusion truthful, reliable information in order to raise awareness about the importance of being sexually healthy, avoiding risks, and the essential role of self-esteem in their development. This will help them to grow physically, psychologically and mentally. The project is aimed at youths between 12 and 16 years of age living at the María Teresa children’s residence in Aranjuez (Madrid), and will be divided into three sessions, all of which will deal with crucial matters in the affective-sexual field. The workshops combine theory and practice; adolescents will be able to participate and show their skills while broadening their knowledge. The goal is for the adolescents to open to health professionals in order to help prevent risk factors and prepare them for the future.
