Los Inicios de la Geopolítica : El estado como órgano viviente

Abstract

La Geopolítica como ciencia tiene sus inicios a finales del siglo XIX, siendo fundada por el geógrafo y politólogo sueco Rudolf Kjellén. En 1900 publicó su primera obra, Introducción a la Geografía Sueca, donde se ven reflejadas las bases de lo que sería la Geopolítica a través de un estudio geográfico, político e histórico de su país. Habría que esperar hasta 1916 dónde en su libro, El Estado como órgano viviente, aparece realmente el término por primera vez y dónde se describe al Estado no como una entidad jurídica sino como un organismo dinámico y en continua transformación para poder competir en la escena internacional .

Geopolitics as science has its beginnings in the late nineteenth century, being founded by the geographer and Swedish political scientist Rudolf Kjellén.
