Migrantes somos todas y todos

Abstract

Hablar de migración hoy es hablar de nosotros mismos. Una de las grandes encrucijadas a las que se enfrenta nuestro mundo en los próximos años es la gestión de la diversidad. Vemos como el éxodo del campo a la ciudad, los desplazados climáticos o las personas que huyen por conflictos o guerras, son un continuo a lo largo y ancho de nuestro planeta. Millones de personas buscan un futuro mejor para los suyos y eso en ocasiones les hace atravesar las fronteras de nuestros países. España no vive de espaldas a esta realidad, con una población de origen inmigrante (POI) que representa el 17% de nuestra población. Una POI que se siente arraigada, pero viviendo una fuerte segregación. Es la última frontera del precariado en nuestro país. ¿Cómo caminar “hacia un nosotros cada vez más grande” como nos invita el Papa Francisco en que “al final ya no estén los otros, sino sólo un nosotros”? (Fratelli Tutti, 35) Os propongo que recorramos este camino juntos . Primero abriendo los ojos a la realidad diversa que vivimos en nuestra sociedad, también atravesada por este tiempo de pandemia. Será bueno tener presente los retos que necesitamos transitar, y percibir como la Iglesia y el Papa Francisco, nos invitan a dar una respuesta integral que nos enriquece a todos. Por último, plantearemos algunas propuestas y claves para seguir en el camino.

To talk about migration today is to talk about ourselves. One of the great crossroads facing our world in the coming years is the management of diversity. We see how the exodus from the countryside to the city, climate displacement or people fleeing conflicts or wars are a continuum throughout the length and breadth of our planet. Millions of people are looking for a better future for their families and this sometimes makes them cross the borders of our countries. Spain does not turn its back on this reality, with a population of immigrant origin (POI) that represents 17% of our population. A POI that feels rooted, but lives a strong segregation. It is the last frontier of the precariat in our country. How can we move "towards an ever greater us", as Pope Francis invites us to do, in which "in the end there will be no more others, but only one us"? (Fratelli Tutti, 35) I propose that we walk this path together. First of all by opening our eyes to the diverse reality that we live in our society, which is also affected by this time of pandemic. It will be good to keep in mind the challenges we need to face, and to perceive how the Church and Pope Francis invite us to give an integral response that enriches us all. Finally, we will put forward some proposals and keys to continue on the path.
