¿Es ‘cool’ el Tribunal Supremo? Las instituciones ante el cambio de época

Abstract

Hoy en día se ha convertido en un tópico decir que vivimos un cambio de época, lo cual es correcto si atendemos a las transformaciones que se están produciendo en nuestros modos de vida y en nuestra forma de comprender la realidad. Esta realidad que querríamos entender se muestra inundada de volatilidad (porque todo es mudable, inconstante, volátil e inestable), incertidumbre (no hay un conocimiento seguro y claro), complejidad (porque se compone de elementos diversos e interrelacionados) y ambigüedad (porque casi cualquier fenómeno se puede entender de diversos modos o se puede interpretar de distintas maneras). El embate de lo líquido contra la solidez de las instituciones es uno de los grandes retos a los que nos enfrentamos. Para superarlo deben ser capaces de acoger lo cambiante en su seno.

Today it has become a cliché to say that we are living a change of era, which is correct if we attend to the transformations that are taking place in our ways of life and in our way of understanding reality. This reality that we would like to understand is flooded with volatility (because everything is changeable, fickle, volatile, and unstable), uncertainty (there is no safe and clear knowledge), complexity (because it is composed of diverse and interrelated elements), and ambiguity (because almost any phenomenon can be understood in different ways or can be interpreted in different ways). The onslaught of the liquid against the solidity of the institutions is one of the significant challenges we face. To overcome it, they must be able to welcome the changing in their midst.
