Abstract

Este cuaderno presenta los efectos que tiene para las personas migrantes una de las instituciones más oscuras y discutidas de nuestra política migratoria. Como bien los define la autora, «los CIE son la "visibilización invisible" de la política del miedo: válvula de escape en época de crisis y, al mismo tiempo, fuente de sometimiento social». Al final, la conclusión principal es que el mal no son los otros (los emigrantes irregulares), sino nuestro modo de articular el «nosotros» en los CIE.

This notebook presents the effects that one of the darkest and most debated institutions of our immigration policy has on migrant individuals. As the author aptly defines them, "CIEs are the 'invisible visibility' of the politics of fear: an escape valve in times of crisis and, at the same time, a source of social subjugation." In the end, the main conclusion is that the problem lies not with others (irregular immigrants) but with our way of articulating "us" within the CIEs.
