Recepción y presencia de Aristóteles durante la Edad Media

Abstract

El presente artículo trata de mostrar, con el mayor rigor, no exento de claridad, el complejo proceso gracias al cual Aristóteles, conocido como “El Filósofo” por buena parte de los pensadores del medievo, llegó a ser, al final de este periodo, un autor de referencia para musulmanes, judíos y cristianos. En torno a él se suscitará un intenso debate. Con el fin de lograr su objetivo, en este artículo se estudia la presencia de Aristóteles tanto en Oriente como en Occidente, tanto entre los musulmanes como entre los cristianos, prestando especial atención a la labor de los traductores de su obra al siríaco, al árabe o al latín.

This article tries to show, with the greatest rigor, not without clarity, the complex process thanks to which Aristotle, known as “The Philosopher” by a large number of medieval thinkers, became, at the end of this period, an author of reference, for Muslims, jews and Christians, around which an intense debate will arise. In order to achieve its objective, this article studies de presence of Aristotle both in the Est and in the West, both among Muslims and Christians, paying special attention to the work of the translators of his work into Syriac, Arabic or to Latin
