Abstract

El texto proporciona una introducción al tema de la inteligencia artificial (IA) y su creciente impacto en la sociedad y la bioética. Se destaca que la IA ha ganado una importancia significativa en la literatura científica, en la divulgación y en la opinión pública en general. Se mencionan desarrollos recientes, como la liberalización de la herramienta Chat GPT en noviembre de 2022, que ha contribuido al crecimiento exponencial de la problemática relacionada con la IA. Se menciona la creación de plataformas y acuerdos internacionales relacionados con la IA, como la Plataforma de las Naciones Unidas para fomentar iniciativas de IA ética, así como acuerdos de principios éticos para el desarrollo responsable de la IA. Se destaca la importancia de la bioética en este contexto y se hace referencia a un congreso de la Pontificia Academia para la Vida que promovió la IA ética, culminando en un llamamiento de Roma para una IA ética. Además, se señala que la IA tiene un carácter disruptivo y es probable que tenga un gran impacto en cuestiones de bioética. The text provides an introduction to the topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its growing impact on society and bioethics. Recent developments are mentioned, such as the liberalization of the Chat GPT tool in November 2022, which has contributed to the exponential growth of issues related to AI. The text also mentions the creation of international platforms and agreements related to AI, such as the United Nations Platform that promotes ethical AI initiatives, as well as agreements on ethical principles for responsible AI development. The importance of bioethics in this context is emphasized, and reference is made to a congress organized by the Pontifical Academy for Life that promoted ethical AI, culminating in the Rome Call for Ethical AI. It is noted that AI has a disruptive nature and is likely to have a significant impact on bioethical issues. The text highlights the need to address the relationships between AI and traditional and emerging ethical issues in bioethics. Finally, the text addresses the blurred boundaries between AI and algorithms, as well as between AI and robotics, and how these topics are treated in the collective book.
