San Juan de la Cruz, lector del Maestro Eckhart

Abstract

En las Opera omnia de Tauler, traducidas al latín por Surio en 1548, se encontraban numerosas referencias explícitas al Maestro Eckhart, además de veinticinco textos suyos. Se indicaba que era el autor de tres sermones y se brindaban algunos de sus Dichos y leyendas. Por tanto, Juan de la Cruz tuvo acceso a estos escritos, que le inspiraron e influyeron, como apuntó Orcibal en 1966. En esta contribución se recorren los sermones de Eckhart presentes en la versión latina de Surio-Tauler, según su orden de aparición, y se señalan nuevas evidencias de la influencia eckhartiana en Juan de la Cruz.

In Tauler’s Opera omnia, translated into Latin by Surius in 1548, there were numerous explicit references to Meister Eckhart, as well as twentyfive texts by him. It was indicated that he was the author of three sermons and some of his Sayings and Legends were given in Tauler’s Opera omnia. John of the Cross therefore had access to these writings, which inspired and influenced him, as Orcibal pointed out in 1966. This contribution reviews Eckhart’s sermons in the Latin version of SurioTauler, following their order of appearance, and points out new evidence of Eckhart’s influence on John of the Cross.
