Cultura vocacional. La universidad jesuita como humus para buscar y hallar sentido existencial

Abstract

Se aborda la actual preocupación institucional de la Compañía de Jesús sobre cómo promover en sus centros de educación superior personas que no sólo dispongan de una formación excelente sino que, además, encuentren un sentido tanto para su vida profesional como para su existencia personal. Tras exponer la intencionalidad de la Compañía para sus centros de educación superior, se subrayan algunas dificultades contextuales contemporáneas que tienden a paralizar a los jóvenes en su necesaria búsqueda de horizontes de sentido. Para ello se exponen cinco crisis importantes: vivencia de insignificancia social, dificultad para identificar lo valorable, dificultad para determinarse, dificultad para trascenderse y crisis del entorno educativo. A continuación se habla de la finalidad antropológica de las obras educativas de la Compañía de Jesús destacando tres dimensiones del Humanismo Ignaciano: la capacidad para interrogar e interrogarse, la vivencia de autoría y ser constructores de sociedades para la dignidad, la justicia y la paz. Se termina con referencias bibliográficas para seguir trabajando y una guía para la reflexión.

The current institutional concern of the Society of Jesus is addressed regarding how to promote, within its higher education centers, individuals who not only possess excellent training but also find meaning both in their professional lives and personal existence.

After presenting the Society's intentions for its higher education centers, some contemporary contextual difficulties that tend to hinder young people in their necessary search for meaningful horizons are emphasized. To this end, five significant crises are outlined: experiencing social insignificance, difficulty in identifying what is valuable, struggle in self-determination, challenges in transcending oneself, and a crisis within the educational environment. The anthropological purpose of the educational works of the Society of Jesus is then discussed, highlighting three dimensions of Ignatian Humanism: the capacity to question and be questioned, the experience of authorship, and the role as builders of societies for dignity, justice, and peace.
