Estudio sobre la introducción de la interpretación en la homilía católica

Abstract

Este trabajo de fin de grado pretende esclarecer la viabilidad de introducir en España la interpretación (consecutiva o simultánea) en la Misa católica y, más concretamente, en la homilía. Parte de la idea de que en países angloparlantes es una práctica habitual pero en España no suele darse. Para estudiar la posibilidad de introducirlo en el mercado, se utilizará la Estrategia del Océano Azul propuesta por Chan y Mauborgne (2005). En el trabajo se intentará demostrar, con ayuda de las herramientas propuestas en dicha estrategia, que la interpretación de la homilía es un océano azul, es decir, que no existe competición en el sector y, por lo tanto, es una buena idea invertir en ello. Además, se utilizará la teoría propuesta por Jonathan Downie para hablar de la interpretación en contextos religiosos y los distintos comportamientos que debe tener un intérprete en dicho sector.

This project aims to clarify the feasibility of introducing interpretation, wether consecutive or simultaneous, in the Catholic Mass in Spain and, more specifically, in the homily or sermon. It is based on the idea that in English-speaking countries it is a common practice, but that in Spain it is not currently practised. In order to study the possibility of introducing homily interpreting into the market, we will use the Blue Ocean Strategy proposed by Chan and Mauborgne (2005). The paper will try to demonstrate, thanks to the tools proposed in this strategy, that the interpretation of the homily is a blue ocean, i.e. that there is no competition in the sector and, therefore, it is a good idea to invest in it. In addition, the theory proposed by Jonathan Downie will be used to discuss interpreting in religious contexts and the different behaviours that an interpreter should have in this sector.
