La llave tiene múltiples significados en los rituales y misterios de las religiones antiguas y posteriormente de las grandes sociedades secretas. La llave, material o metafórica, abre y cierra los cónclaves de innumerables rituales antiguos. En las sociedades secretas a ella le corresponde dar paso o impedir el paso a iniciados y profanos. Solo la llave puede dar el salvoconducto que permite entrar en el fanum, el templo, donde se recrean el nacimiento del universo y el baile eterno entre la luz y las tinieblas.

The key holds multiple meanings in the rituals and mysteries of ancient religions and later in the great secret societies. The key, whether material or metaphorical, opens and closes the conclaves of countless ancient rituals. In secret societies, it is responsible for granting or denying passage to initiates and outsiders. Only the key can provide the safe conduct that allows entry into the fanum, the temple, where the birth of the universe and the eternal dance between light and darkness are reenacted.
