This study aimed to assess the presence of myofascial trigger points (TrPs) and widespread pressure hyperalgesia in individuals with postmeniscectomy pain, as well as to explore the relationship between active TrPs, pain intensity, and pressure hypersensitivity. Thirty-three postmeniscectomy patients and 33 matched controls participated. The results showed that patients had a significantly higher number of active TrPs compared to controls, which was linked to higher pain intensity and widespread pressure sensitivity. The findings suggest that peripheral sensitization, indicated by the presence of active TrPs, may contribute to postmeniscectomy pain.en-GB
