Abstract

La traducción para José Ángel Valente representa el modo de articular su voz poética desde el texto ajeno. El fragmento asimismo es el modo de escritura a lo largo de su carrera. El fragmento «XVII (El yo tardío)», integrado en Treinta y siete fragmentos(1971), es un texto híbrido y bilingüe elaborado desde la traducción de fragmentos del poema «Das späte ich» del alemán Gottfried Benn. En primer lugar trazaremos los rasgos estilísticos y la temática del poemario de Valente a fin de evidenciar ciertos elementos comunes con el movimiento expresionista, del que Benn es un claro exponente. A continuación analizaremos el fragmento «XVII (El yo tardío)» a la luz del poema alemán «Das späte ich» en su integridad, en el cual se inspiró Valente para su composición. Las partes omitidas del original alemán nos servirán de apoyo para observar los aspectos temáticos y estéticos que subyacen en esta composición bilingüe.
