Abstract

Este artículo explora el significado bíblico del jubileo, más allá de su dimensión socioeconómica. Partiendo de su proclamación en Yom Kippur, destaca su vínculo con el perdón divino y la justicia social. Sobre esta base, examina su relación con los años sabáticos, su difícil aplicación histórica y su desarrollo profético. Finalmente, aborda la transformación del jubileo en la predicación de Jesús, donde se convierte en un “hoy” de gracia y liberación. En el horizonte del jubileo 2025, el artículo reflexiona sobre la vigencia de este signo bíblico como una llamada a la justicia, la misericordia y la esperanza.

This article explores the biblical meaning of Jubilee beyond its socio-economic dimension. Given its proclamation on Yom Kippur, it has a clear link with divine forgiveness and social justice. On this basis, the article examines how the Jubilee year relates to the Sabbath year, its difficult application historically and its prophetic development. Finally, it addresses the Jubilee’s transformation in the preaching of Jesus, where it becomes a ‘today’ of grace and liberation. In the context of the 2025 Jubilee, the article reflects on the relevance of this biblical sign as a call to justice, mercy and hope.
