Título : Titus Brandsma and Thérèse of Lisieux: Some Biographical and Spiritual Convergences
Autor : Millán Romeral, Fernando Joaquín

Resumen : .
The document, titled "Titus Brandsma and Thérèse of Lisieux: Some Biographical and Spiritual Convergences," examines the spiritual and biographical similarities between Blessed Titus Brandsma and Saint Thérèse of Lisieux. Although they lived in very different contexts—she, a contemplative Carmelite nun of 19th-century France; he, an active Carmelite friar of 20th-century Netherlands—the author highlights several points of convergence: the central role of love, humility, everyday spirituality, missionary sensitivity, humor, the importance of family, and a deep life of prayer and contemplation. Brandsma’s writings and lectures on Thérèse are analyzed, as well as the mutual influence of their spiritualities. Through letters, testimonies, and conferences, the document shows how both were models of a profound Gospel-centered spirituality, lived amidst suffering, social commitment, and contemplative religious life.
