Abstract

El artículo examina la peculiar exclusión de la tribu de Leví de la herencia de la tierra, un hecho que parece en contraste con la promesa que Dios hizo a Abraham. Se analiza Nm 18,20, donde YHWH declara ser Él mismo la heredad de Aarón y sus hijos, en lugar de una porción de tierra. La investigación aborda preguntas fundamentales sobre las razones teológicas y sociales detrás de esta disposición divina, explorando cómo este sistema único en Israel destacaría la dependencia total de los sacerdotes en Dios, resaltando así su rol especial en la comunidad. A través de un enfoque exegético y teológico, se revela que la verdadera herencia de los descendientes de Leví es la presencia divina, ofreciendo nuevas perspectivas sobre el significado de herencia y posesión en la tradición bíblica.

The article examines the peculiar exclusion of the tribe of Levi from the inheritance of the land, a fact that seems to contrast with the promise God made to Abraham. It analyzes Numbers 18:20, where YHWH declares that He Himself is the inheritance of Aaron and his sons, instead of a portion of land. The research addresses fundamental questions about the theological and social reasons behind this divine provision, exploring how this unique system in Israel would highlight the priests’ total dependence on God, thus emphasizing their special role in the community.
