Resumen : .
The present study aims to validate the Public Speaking Self-efficacy and Fear Questionnaire (CAHP-CIHP) in the Spanish-speaking university population, collecting evidence regarding the validity and reliability of its scores. 575 students enrolled in Spanish universities participated, responding to the CAHP-CIHP questionnaire and the Spanish versions of the Personal Report of Confidence as Speaker (PRCS), Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale (LSAS), and Self-statements during Public Speaking Scale (SSPS) questionnaires for validation purposes. The internal consistency and factorial structure of CAHP-CIHP were analyzed, along with its relationship with PRCS, LSAS, and SSPS. The scores of the CAHP-CIHP questionnaire showed excellent internal consistency (Cronbach’s alphas/Omegas = 0.928 − 0.934). An extended bifactor model with a method factor was estimated and showed adequate fit (CFI = 0.907, TLI = 0.892, RMSEA = 0.081, SRMS = 0.043). The test scores were significantly correlated with the other scales (r =.545 −.696). CAHP-CIHP proves to be a valid and reliable instrument for assessing public speaking fear and self-efficacy among Spanish-speaking university students.
