Estudio cualitativo sobre el impacto psicológico de la enfermedad renal crónica en niños entre 12 y 16 años

Abstract

Introducción: la insuficiencia renal crónica es una enfermedad muy presente en nuestra actualidad, sin embargo, apenas existen estudios relacionados con el impacto psicológico que supone el diagnóstico de esta enfermedad a una temprana edad, es decir, en niños. Objetivos: el objetivo de este estudio es conocer el impacto psicológico de dicha enfermedad en pacientes con edad comprendida entre 12 y 16 años, pudiendo así ofrecer al paciente una atención más integral desde el punto de vista de la enfermería. Metodología: la metodología llevada a cabo en este estudio es de tipo cualitativo, se llevará a cabo a partir de entrevistas semiestructuradas a pacientes con insuficiencia renal crónica de las plantas de nefrología del Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón y del Hospital Universitario Infantil Niño Jesús. Implicaciones para la enfermería: se puede observar la necesidad actual de investigar más acerca de los procesos psicológicos que interfieren en los pacientes de pediatría una vez diagnosticados con una enfermedad crónica; por lo que, este estudio, trata de dar a conocer la realidad de muchos de los pacientes crónicos, y así poder ofrecer unos cuidados enfocados en todas las necesidades de los pacientes, es decir, tener la capacidad de brindar una atención integral al paciente

Introduction: chronic renal failure is a very common disease nowadays, however, there are hardly any studies related to the psychological impact of the diagnosis of this disease at an early age, as it is in children. Objectives: the aim of this study is to know the psychological impact of this disease in patients aged between 12 and 16 years, thus being able to offer the patient a more comprehensive care from the nursing point of view. Methodology: the methodology used in this study is qualitative and will be based on semi structured interviews with patients with chronic renal failure in the nephrology departments of the Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón and the Hospital Universitario Infantil Niño Jesús. Nursing implications: it can be observed the current need for such investigation on the psychological processes that interfere in pediatric patients once they have been diagnosed with a chronic disease; for this, this study tries to make known the reality of many of the chronic patients, in order to offer care focused on all the needs, that is, to have the ability to provide comprehensive care to the patient
