Ansiedad y depresión en familiares de pacientes en UCI: un estudio observacional

Abstract

Hace más de un siglo que se reconoce la unidad de cuidados intensivos (UCI). Desde entonces se ha intentado mejorar su diseño. Al principio, depositando todos los esfuerzos en conocimientos y tecnologías, pero a día de hoy una de las grandes prioridades es poder garantizar una atención de calidad y humanizada ya no solo a los pacientes, sino a sus familias. Aquí es donde se centran los objetivos de nuestro estudio, siendo estos conocer la cantidad de familiares de pacientes en UCI que padecen ansiedad y depresión durante el ingreso y que factores predisponentes de estos pueden guardar relación. Desde aquí y con esta intención, se desarrolla el siguiente proyecto de investigación observacional que se realizará mediante una hoja de recogida de datos del familiar, una encuesta de valoración de la depresión y otra de la ansiedad que se entregarán en las UCIS de los hospitales de Getafe y Valdemoro. Una vez obtenidos estos datos, se realizará un análisis descriptivo de variables cuantitativas y cualitativas para poder estudiar si las variables objeto de investigación tienen influencia sobre la aparición de ansiedad y/o depresión.

The intensive care unit has been recognized for more than a century. Since then, has been trying to improve its design. At first, depositing all efforts in knowledges and technologies, but today one of the big priorities is to be able secure quality and humanized care, not only to patients, but to their families. This is where the objectives of our study are focused, being these to know the number of relatives of patients in the ICU who suffer from anxiety and depression during admission and what predisposing factors may be related. Whit this intention, the following observational research project is developed, which will be carried out through a data collection sheet of the family member, a depression assessment survey and another on anxiety that will be delivered in the ICUS of the Getafe and Valdemoro hospitals. Once these data are obtained, a descriptive analysis of quantitative and qualitative variables will be carried out to study whether the variables under investigation have an influence on the appearance of anxiety and/or depression.
