Escuela de familias: cuidados del paciente oncológico terminal en su domicilio

Abstract

Introducción: cuando en la familia uno de los miembros tiene una enfermedad oncológica terminal se produce una disfunción familiar. Genera un gran impacto ya que la familia se hace cargo del paciente. La familia, sin tener conocimientos sanitarios previos, se hace cargo del cuidado del paciente paliativo. En este contexto, resulta fundamental brindar apoyo a la familia, promover su autonomía y transmitir seguridad. Objetivo: el objetivo del presente trabajo es dotar de conocimientos y competencias a la familia en el cuidado en el domicilio del paciente oncológico paliativo. Metodología: para llevar a cabo el trabajo se han realizado varias consultas bibliográficas en diferentes bases de datos científicas como Academic Search Complete, Medline, CINAHL Complete, E.Journals, Elsevier y SciELO. Implicaciones para la práctica enfermera: mejorar la calidad de vida de los pacientes oncológicos en cuidados paliativos, garantizando su mayor confort y trabajar junto con la familia para promover su salud

Introduction: when a family member is diagnosed with a terminal oncological illnes, family dysfunction occurs. This has a significant impact, as the family becomes responsible for the patient's care. Without prior healthcare knowledge, the family takes on the responsibility of caring for the palliative patient. In this context, it is essential to provide support to the family, promote their autonomy, and convey a sense of security. Objective: the objective of this study is to equip families with the necessary knowledge and skills for home care of patients with palliative cancer. Methodology: to carry out this study, various bibliographic sources were consulted across different scientific databases, including Academic Search Complete, Medline, CINAHL Complete, E.Journals, Elsevier, and SciELO. Implications for nursing practice: improving the quality of life of cancer patients in palliative care by ensuring maximum comfort and working collaboratively with the family to promote their health.
