Reflexiones del Comité de Bioética de la AEP sobre el rechazo de tratamientos vitales y no vitales en el menor

Abstract

Los conflictos que surgen cuando los menores o sus representantes legales se niegan a recibir tratamiento médico considerado necesario por el pediatra plantean un serio dilema ético y también tienen un impacto emocional considerable. Con el fin de abordar adecuadamente este rechazo del tratamiento médico, hay que identificar e intentar comprender los argumentos de las personas involucradas, considerar el contexto en cada caso individual y estar familiarizado con el procedimiento a seguir en situaciones de riesgo para la vida, teniendo en cuenta Consideraciones bioéticas y el marco jurídico.

The conflicts that arise when minors or their legal representatives refuse to receive medical treatment considered necessary by the paediatrician pose a serious ethical dilemma and also have a considerable emotional impact.
