Dinamometría de una técnica manipulativa osteopática versus movilización de Mulligan en pacientes con cervicalgia mecánica
Resumen
Antecedentes:
La patología cervical es una de las más habituales dentro de la fisioterapia y gran parte de la
población pasará por un dolor cervical a lo largo de su vida. En concreto para la cervicalgia
mecánica hay gran cantidad de opciones de tratamiento.
Dos de ellos son la movilización sustained natural apophyseal glides de Mulligan, la cual
tiene pocas contraindicaciones y con respuesta positiva en el tratamiento de las cervicalgias
y por el otro lado la manipulación de alta velocidad y bajo recorrido osteopática, en la cual
podemos encontrar alguna contraindicación más pero también tiene gran cabida en el
tratamiento de la fisioterapia.
Objetivos:
Comparar la eficacia del tratamiento sustained natural apophyseal glides de Mulligan versus
el tratamiento con manipulación osteopática de alta velocidad y bajo recorrido mediante una
dinamometría realizada con el Multi-cervical Unit, en paciente con cervicalgia mecánica.
Metodología:
Estudio analítico experimental, simple ciego modificado con 704 sujetos con cervicalgia
mecánica, de edad comprendida entre 21 y 45 años y divididos de igual manera en dos
grupos. En ambos grupos se realizará la medición inicial de fuerza isométrica y rango de
movimiento en los tres planos de movimiento y posteriormente a un grupo se le realizará la
técnica sustained natural apophyseal glides de Mulligan y a otro una manipulación
osteopática de alta velocidad y bajo recorrido. Finalmente se vuelve a realizar la medición de
rango de movimiento y fuerza tras el tratamiento. Background:
Neck deseases are very common in physiotheraphy, as most part of the population will suffer
of neck pain at some point in their lives. Particularly, mechanical neck pain has different
treatments.
On the one hand, we can find the Mulligan´s sustained natural apophyseal glides
mobilization. This treatmed barely has any adverse effect on the patient and it has proven to
be effective for neck pain. On the other hand, we can find osteophaty manipulation with high
velocity and low amplitude. This treatment has some side effects but is broadly used in the
physiotherapy field.
Objectives:
In this article we aim to make a comparison on the results of Mulligan´s treatment Sutained
Natural Apophyseal Glides against the osteophathy treatment with high velocity and low
aplitude. For the osteophathy approach the Multi-cervical Unit was used. The patient suffered
of mechanical neck pain.
Methodology:
This article is based on an experimental analysis on 352 patients who suffer mechanical
neck pain. The patients are between 21 and 45 years old and are divided in two different
groups. On the first stage of the analysis, all the patients have their isometric strength and
range of motion measured. One of the groups would be treated with Mulligan´s approach,
whereas the second group would be treated with osteopathy technique. Once the treatments
are finalized the range of motion and strength is measured again.
