Calidad de Vida en padres de niños alérgicos a la leche de vaca después de tratamiento con Inmunoterapia Oral

Abstract

La alergia a la leche de vaca es la alergia alimentaria más frecuente en los niños y representa un problema de salud importante por sus manifestaciones clínicas y repercusiones psicosociales que afectan y limitan las actividades diarias de pacientes y familias con la consecuente pérdida de calidad de vida. La inmunoterapia oral que consiste en la administración por vía oral de cantidades cada vez mayores del alimento hasta alcanzar la dosis objetivo, se presenta como una terapia efectiva que está consiguiendo resultados positivos en la desensibilización del paciente y por lo tanto, en la mejora de calidad de vida de niños y padres. El objetivo de este trabajo es tratar de verificar la hipótesis de que la calidad de vida de los padres mejora después del tratamiento de Inmunoterapia Oral seguido por sus hijos alérgicos. Con ese fin, se utilizará un estudio observacional analítico prospectivo con grupo único. La muestra estará constituida por 91 padres de niños alérgicos a la leche de vaca mediada por IgE. La calidad de vida de los padres será evaluada por una versión del cuestionario FAQLQ-PF antes y después de recibir el tratamiento. La participación activa de enfermería en todo el procedimiento desempeñará un importante papel en la prestación de los cuidados al paciente y a sus familias.

Cow’s milk allergy is the most common food allergy and represents an important health problem by their clinic´s symptoms and the psychosocial problems as they affect and limit the patient´s and families living in the daily basis causing a loss of quality of life. The oral immunotherapy that consists of the oral administration of increasing amounts of the food until reaching the target dose, is presented as an effective therapy that is achieving positive results in the desensitization of the patient and, therefore, in the improvement of the quality of life of children and parents. The aim of this work is to verify the hypothesis whether the quality of the parents improves after the treatment of the oral immunotherapy followed by the children who suffer from allergy. For that purpose, it will be used an analytic observational research. The sample will be formed by the 91 parents with sons who suffer from allergy to cow´s milk IgE mediated. The parents quality of life will be evaluated by the FAQLQ-PF questionnaire before and after receiving the treatment. Active participation of nursing during the whole process will have such an important role to play due the nursing cares to the patient and their families.
