Estado de la cuestión de la banca ética en España
Resumen
La banca ética se presenta como una alternativa al modelo tradicional bancario,
basado en la transparencia y en buscar un beneficio económico junto a un impacto
positivo en la sociedad. Durante estos últimos años, ha experimentando un
importante crecimiento, en parte, por la crisis financiera y de valores que hemos y
estamos viviendo. Sin embargo, para alcanzar los objetivos que persigue esta banca
ética, no existe un único modelo.
Durante este proyecto, se explicarán los antecedentes de la banca ética y cómo es su
funcionamiento y gestión, poniendo de manifiesto las diferencias más significativas
con la banca tradicional. Además, se reflejará la situación actual de estas nuevas
entidades y cuáles son los modelos e instituciones más significativas a nivel
nacional. Además, se verá que productos ofrecen y si son capaces de cubrir todo el
abanico de necesidades bancarias. Por último, pese a no ser objeto de este trabajo, se
mencionará como se cuantifica en valor el impacto de las actividades desarrolladas
por la banca ética.
El objetivo final no es ni criticar ni defender este nuevo modelo, simplemente se
busca analizar y explicar de la forma más objetiva posible la situación actual de la
banca ética en España. Ethical banking is presented as an alternative to traditional banking system, based on its
transparency and its search of making profits and advancing their social missions at the
same time. These past few years, ethical banking has experienced a significant growth,
partly due to the financial and values crisis we have suffered and are suffering from.
However, there is not only a way to achieve the objectives pursued by ethical banking.
On this project, there will be explained the antecedents and the operation and
management of ethical banking, revealing its main differences with traditional banking
system. In addition, there will be explained what is the current situation of these new
banks and which are the most significant financial models and institutions at national
level. Besides, it will be discussed if the financial products offered by these banks are
able to meet the whole banking range of needs. Lastly, despite not being this project’s
objective, there will be mention how to quantify the impact of the activities developed
by ethical banking.
The ultimate objective of this project it is neither criticize nor defend this new system
but objectively explain and analyze the situation of ethical banking in Spain.
