Las versiones francesas de "Five Fall into Adventure" (Enid Blyton, 1950): entre traducción, manipulación y adaptación

Abstract

Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado estudia la recepción de la obra “Five Fall into Adventure” (1950) en Francia a través del análisis de los cambios realizados en dos de sus versiones francesas, “Le Club des cinq et les gitans” (1960) y “Le Club des Cinq pris au piège” (2019). Con dos traducciones tan separadas en el tiempo, se pretende estudiar la recepción de la obra desde su primera publicación hasta la actualidad y analizar si las modificaciones realizadas en la primera edición con respecto al original se han mantenido en esta última versión francesa o si la tendencia traductológica ha cambiado con el paso del tiempo. Para ello, se ofrece en primer lugar una breve presentación de Enid Blyton y de la serie “The Famous Five”, a fin de recopilar los puntos más importantes sobre la autora y su obra. En segundo lugar, para contextualizar el trabajo, se recoge la trayectoria de “Los Cinco” en Francia y, en concreto, el recorrido que ha tenido la versión francesa de “Five Fall into Adventure” en este país. En tercer lugar, el marco teórico presenta los conceptos de adaptación, domesticación y culturema, que serán llevados a la práctica en el capítulo empírico y que desempeñan un papel importante en las dos versiones francesas debido a los elementos culturales, ideológicos y sociales presentes en el original inglés. Por último se muestran las conclusiones obtenidas.

The present final dissertation studies the reception that “Five Fall into Adventure” (1960) has had in France. To this end, it analyses the changes made in two of its french translations, “Le Club des cinq et les gitans” (1960) and “Le Club des Cinq pris au piège” (2019). By choosing two translations so far apart in time, it is intended to study the reception of the novel from its first publication to the present day and to analyse whether the changes made in the first translation have been maintained in the last version or, on the contrary, the translation tendency has changed over the years. Thus, the dissertation provides in the first place a briefly presentation of Enid Blyton and the series “The Famous Five”, in order to compile the main points about the author and her work. Secondly, it assembles the trajectory of the series in France, as well as a detailed view of the evolution of “Five Fall into Adventure” in this country. Thirdly, the theoretical framework presents the concepts of adaptation, domestication and realia, which will be applied in the empirical chapter and which play an important role in the french translations due to the presence of cultural, ideological and sociological elements in the original text. Finally, the dissertation shows the conclusions obtained.
