dc.description.abstract | The gender gap is a reality that is reflected in various sectors of a country's economy, but above all, when analyzing the STEM careers environment. With a female presence in the Spanish STEM sector of less than 40%, this paper has considered it relevant to analyze this situation, both in Spanish universities and in the labor market. In order to delve into the causes that determine the low representation, we have analyzed the factors influencing both the low rate of female enrollment in STEM careers, as well as the low presence in the labor market in this sector. Finally, the work does not go unnoticed to make a brief comparison of how this situation is experienced in the world, taking as a reference two of the countries that make up the European Union to see what factors influence and what actions are being taken in other economies similar to the Spanish one. | en-GB |
