dc.description.abstract | In a constantly changing world, the premise of adapt or die becomes as accurate as it has ever been. In traditional sectors like real estate, only a few investment processes include environmental or sustainability factors into account. With an unprecedented boom of demand for sustainable-labelled products, the integration between real estate and ESG factors is just a matter of time. In order to be able to understand the magnitude of the opportunity, the environmental footprint of real estate, which accounts for 40% of global energy consumption and more than 30% of greenhouse gas emissions, is exposed. Consequently, there is an attempt to capitalize on the opportunity by establishing a framework that companies can use to disclose information and report their performance. Lastly, the principal obstacles which ESG investing is going to face in this sector are detected and general and sector specific solutions are proposed. | en-GB |
