Abstract
The current market of flat sharing has suffered some changes in the past years. If Spain is known for being a country for ownership, the inability for young people to own a house, has increased the demand for renting. Furthermore, as a result of the increase on the average price of flats, the demand for flat sharing has enlarged. These patterns offer a business opportunity for those who want to operate in this market. The reality is that there is not a platform that centralizes in a single devise everything necessary in order to complete the cycle for flat sharing.
As a solution for this problem, and within the framework of Comillas Emprende competition organized by Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE), four students have designed Coabit. The start-up fintech arises to facilitate all the processes related with flat sharing, from the expenses and hiring of utilities, to the ability to search for roommates and a flat. Along with the platform Adventurees and the mentorship of a professional in the field, we have developed the Business Model Plan, that have allowed us to win the third place in the contest.
