Análisis cuantitativo sobre el miedo al COVID-19 y futuras pandemias

Abstract

Este trabajo de fin de grado pretende analizar qué factores producen el miedo al COVID-19 y futuras pandemias. A través de la información obtenida de la literatura académica sobre el tema se han extraído los factores que pueden afectar a ese miedo. Para tener información sobre las percepciones de la población se ha elaborado una encuesta, en la que se han obtenido 604 respuestas válidas. Tras plantear varias hipótesis sobre los factores que generan miedo al Covid 19 y futuras pandemias, se ha utilizado un modelo de regresión lineal para tratar de verificarlas. De las variables elegidas en el modelo sólo 5 han resultado ser significativas y tres de ellas estaban incluidas en las hipótesis. Con estos resultados se han obtenido una serie de conclusiones sobre los factores que provocan ese miedo y el perfil de las personas que lo sufren.

This final degree thesis aims to analyze what factors produce fear of COVID-19 and future pandemics. Through the information obtained from the academic literature on the subject, the factors that may affect this fear have been extracted. To obtain information on the perceptions of the population, a survey was conducted in which 604 valid responses were obtained. After posing several hypotheses about the factors that generate fear of Covid 19 and future pandemics, a linear regression model was used to try to verify them. Of the variables chosen in the model, only five were found to be significant and three of these were included in the hypotheses. With these results we have obtained a series of conclusions about the factors that provoke this fear and the profile of the people who suffer from it.
