Impacto económico de la celebración de eventos deportivos : caso del Mutua Madrid Open

Abstract

El objetivo principal de este trabajo de fin de grado consiste en determinar y estudiar cuales son las variables que se ven afectadas tanto positiva como negativamente por la celebración del Mutua Madrid Open en la ciudad de Madrid durante el mes de mayo y entender que es lo que ocasiona que dichas variables se vean alteradas y justificar el impacto de dichas variables en la economía. Es decir, se pretende entender cual es el impacto de este evento deportivo en la ciudad de Madrid. Estas variables seleccionadas han sido el turismo, la ocupación hotelera, la hacienda publica y el empleo, las cuales se analizan en detalle y se exponen los datos numéricos y las explicaciones del porque el impacto que tienen en la economía madrileña cuando se celebra el evento deportivo. También se realiza un recorrido por la historia de los eventos deportivos y como estos han ido evolucionado con el paso de los años, para posteriormente centrar la atención más concretamente en los eventos tenístico y cuales han sido los grandes acontecimientos de la historia que permiten entender el tenis en la actualidad como lo entendemos, además de focalizar la atención en la figura del tenis en nuestro país.

The main objective of this thesis is to determine and study the variables that are affected both positively and negatively by the Mutua Madrid Open in the city of Madrid during the month of May and to understand what causes these variables to be altered and to justify the impact of these variables on the economy. In other words, the aim is to understand the impact of this sporting event on the city of Madrid. These selected variables are tourism, hotel occupancy, public finances and employment, which are analyzed in detail and the numerical data and explanations of the impact they have on the Madrid economy when the sporting event is held are presented. It also analyses at the history of sporting events and how they have evolved over the years, and then focuses more specifically on tennis events and what have been the great events in history that allow us to understand tennis today as we understand it, as well as focusing attention on the figure of tennis in our country.
