Abstract
Through the centuries, the mythological figure of the sorceress Circe has represented enchantment, witchcraft, and the danger that knowledgeable women posed to men. Since the 19th century, from the pre-Raphaelite representations of Circe in the paintings of John William Waterhouse, interest in this character has been renewed, evolving towards new meanings and a new framing that support a feminist discourse. In our communication, we propose an interdiscursive analysis of the contemporary representations of Circe in painting, social networks, comics, cinema and literature by means of the realignment of the framing of this myth to fit a new narrative.
