La traducción del humor: comparación entre la traducción al español peninsular y al de Latinoamérica en la serie Drôle

Abstract

El presente Trabajo de Fin de Grado se enfoca en analizar la influencia del español neutro en la transmisión o pérdida del humor en el doblaje de una serie cómica. Se examina cómo las restricciones de esta modalidad lingüística podrían impactar la oralidad y la adaptación de elementos humorísticos, potencialmente reduciendo la hilaridad al evitar regionalismos y referencias culturales específicas. Para ello, se realiza un análisis comparativo entre la versión doblada al español neutro para América Latina y la versión doblada al español peninsular de la serie francesa "Drôle". El trabajo busca identificar las dificultades de trasvase de referencias culturales y elementos humorísticos, y evalúa si la pérdida del humor es intrínseca al proceso de traducción o está vinculada al español neutro. El estudio se sitúa en el contexto de la traducción audiovisual, explorando sus modalidades y el concepto del español neutro. Además, se revisan teorías y estrategias relacionadas con la traducción del humor. El análisis se apoya en fichas descriptivas que detallan las estrategias de traducción del humor y compara los elementos trasvasados desde un enfoque cuantitativo. Este estudio busca profundizar en un área de investigación que hasta ahora ha recibido menos atención, así como examinar el porcentaje de la pérdida del humor original que se le atribuye a la neutralización del lenguaje.

This thesis focuses on analysing the influence of neutral Spanish on the transmission or loss of humour in the dubbing of a comedy series. It examines how the restrictions of this linguistic modality could impact the orality and adaptation of humorous elements, potentially reducing hilarity by avoiding regionalisms and specific cultural references. To this end, a comparative analysis is carried out between the version dubbed into neutral Spanish for Latin America and the version dubbed into peninsular Spanish of the French series Drôle. The work aims to identify the difficulties of transferring cultural references and humorous elements, and assesses whether the loss of humour is intrinsic to the translation process or is linked to the neutral Spanish. The study is placed in the context of audiovisual translation, exploring its modalities and the concept of neutral Spanish. In addition, theories and strategies related to the translation of humour are reviewed. The analysis is supported by descriptive data sheets that detail the strategies of humour translation and compare the elements transferred from a quantitative approach. This study attempts to delve into an area of research that has so far received less attention and to examine how much of the loss of original humour is attributed to language neutralisation.
